Major Step Forward in Foldable Durability
Google has officially announced the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, positioning it as its most robust foldable phone to date. The device introduces a new gearless hinge, constructed from aerospace-grade aluminum, which Google claims is twice as durable as its predecessor. The phone also debuts IP68 water and dust resistance—a first for any foldable device—bringing it in line with the rest of the Pixel 10 series for environmental protection.
The inner Super Actua Flex Display has been redesigned with ultra-thin glass and two layers of anti-impact film, enhancing drop resistance. Google asserts the combination of these improvements allows the Pixel 10 Pro Fold to withstand over 10 years of regular folding.
Display and Battery Upgrades

The Pixel 10 Pro Fold features the largest inner display on a foldable phone at 8 inches, complemented by a 6.4-inch outer screen—both with brightness up to 3000 nits. The minimized bezels enable the larger screens without increasing the overall device footprint.
Battery life gets a significant boost, with the device promising over 30 hours of use on a single charge. Wired charging can restore 50% battery in just 30 minutes, and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is the first foldable to support Qi2 wireless charging. The built-in PixelSnap magnetic technology allows for easy attachment of a charger or stand, even when unfolded.
Tensor G5 Powers AI and Camera Enhancements

At its core, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold runs on Google’s custom Tensor G5 processor, delivering improved performance and unlocking new AI-driven features. Users gain access to tools like Gemini Live, Magic Cue, and Daily Hub, as well as advanced photography functions such as Add Me, Best Take, and Camera Coach.
The camera system has been upgraded to a 48MP main sensor within a triple rear camera array. Features like Macro Focus, Super Res Zoom (up to 20x), and Rear Camera Selfie expand creative possibilities. A new Instant View function lets users immediately preview photos on the unfolded screen, making it easier to capture the perfect shot. Other foldable-specific camera modes, such as Made You Look, Dual Screen Preview, and Tabletop Mode, are also included.
Multitasking and App Optimization
The device’s form factor enables new multitasking capabilities, including adjustable split-screen mode, drag-and-drop file transfer between apps, and a dedicated game controller interface for the outer display. Google reports ongoing collaboration with Android developers to optimize app experiences for foldable devices, with streaming apps like Netflix and Disney+ already enhanced for the large screen.
Availability and Pricing
The Pixel 10 Pro Fold is available for pre-order starting August 20, 2025, and will reach store shelves on October 9. It launches in two color options: Moonstone and Jade. Customers can check the Google Store for regional availability and updates.
