Your Nest Thermostat Just Got Smarter (and Better Looking)

Artist Collaboration Brings Animated Art to Smart Thermostats

Google has expanded personalization options for the Google Nest Thermostat (4th Gen) by launching four new Farsight faces. The centerpiece is a seasonal, animated display created in partnership with French artist Mathilde Loubes, known for her visual storytelling and animated films. This seasonal face transforms the thermostat’s screen into a dynamic artwork, cycling through 12 unique illustrations of flowers and fruits, with each month featuring a new design.

Expanded Display Choices for Users

Alongside the seasonal art, Google has introduced three additional Farsight faces:

  • Minimal Face: Offers a clean, understated interface showing cooling, heating, and eco modes.
  • Nest Classic Face: A modern reinterpretation of the original bold Nest thermostat display.
  • Temperature Controller Face: Designed for quick, at-a-glance adjustments to temperature settings.

These new additions join existing Farsight faces, such as digital and analog clocks and the animated weather display, broadening the range of styles available to users.

Focus on Personalization and Home Integration

The update reflects Google’s ongoing commitment to making smart home technology more customizable and visually appealing. By offering a selection that ranges from artistic animation to minimalist utility, Google aims to help the Nest Learning Thermostat blend seamlessly into diverse home environments.

Availability

The new Farsight faces are rolling out now to all Nest Learning Thermostat (4th Gen) devices. Users can access the new designs by navigating to their thermostat settings.
